Commercial demolition at TTL Services brings the whole building down and clears the lot. We take down retail stores, office buildings, warehouses, parking garages and mixed-use buildings. Tracked excavators with demolition grapples and buckets do the work. The debris is sorted and hauled, and the lot is left graded and clean.
As a Paterson demolition contractor, we take commercial work anywhere in New Jersey. Developers, general contractors, property owners and towns call us when an old building has to go. Our past jobs include a multi-level parking garage and a former armory, both in Paterson.
Tell us about the building or the site and where it is. We look at the job and put the quote in writing.
A multi-story building comes down from the top, one story at a time. Federal safety rules keep machines off any floor too weak to carry their weight. A competent person keeps inspecting the structure while the work goes on, as those rules also require.
High reach demolition takes a taller building apart from the top, with the machine on the ground. A multi-level parking garage comes down one deck at a time, from the top. One-story stores and warehouses come down with standard excavators. Factories and plants are a different job, covered under industrial demolition.
Complete site demolition takes out more than the building. The slab and the footings come out, along with old pavement on the lot. That leaves bare ground for the next foundation.
Federal safety rules call for an engineering survey by a competent person before demolition starts. It checks the walls and floors for the risk of an unplanned collapse. Nearby buildings get the same check where workers may be exposed. The same rules call for each utility line to be shut off or capped outside the building.
The town's construction official issues the demolition permit under New Jersey's Uniform Construction Code. That permit waits on a written release from each utility that served the building. The owners of the lots next door get written notice before the permit is granted.
The permit also waits on asbestos. The town needs word that any asbestos that would crumble in the teardown will be abated first. The licensed asbestos abatement contractor we work with does that part. Our page on asbestos abatement and demolition lays out who does what.
As a commercial demolition contractor, we keep the equipment in our Paterson yard. North Jersey sits at the core of our area: Passaic, Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Union and Morris Counties.
We fence the site before the teardown starts, and water on the work holds the dust down. Town codes can spell this out. Passaic's city code, for one, calls for barriers around the work and control of demolition dust.
Debris is sorted as it comes down, and our trucks and containers haul it away. Concrete and metal go to recycling through our demolition debris removal work, and the rest goes to a disposal facility. After the last load, the lot is graded and left clean. State code expects a demolished lot kept safe, with its established grades restored.

The quote spells out what comes down and how the lot is left. We set the date once you say yes.
Each utility confirms its connection is removed or sealed, and then the town can issue the demolition permit. Any asbestos that would crumble is abated before the teardown. A call to New Jersey One Call (811) gets the buried lines marked.
Our excavators bring the structure down, and the debris is sorted and hauled. The lot is left graded, or dug for the new foundation when the builder is ready.
